Date is today (August 31), period is month. Local time is 15:03 UTC-5.

In the RSS feed, for August 2010, we see a pubdate from July.

    <pubDate>Sun, 01 Aug 2010 00:00:00 +0000</pubDate>

For a month with no stats, we see a pubdate based on the current time. Also, the time isn't timezone shifted. July 2010:

    <pubDate>Thu, 01 Jul 2010 15:03:56 +0000</pubDate>

Proposal:

  • For the current period, use the current time.
  • For earlier periods, use the end date of the period (or the start date of the next period).

Modifying our example above, we'd instead see:

    <pubDate>Tue, 31 Aug 2010 15:03:56 -0500</pubDate>
...
    <pubDate>Sun, 01 Aug 2010 00:00:00 -0500</pubDate>
