It would be nice to have an option in the dashboard which would allow for archiving to be disabled during the archiving, because currently when we archive our visits our website keeps loading (it's waiting for a reply from Piwik, which it can't give because there's a table lock on the visits/actions table I guess).

I realize this would cause some lost statistics, but we would prefer to loose some statistics over having our website continuously loading.

Another alternative would be to limit the query to x seconds, but I'm not sure whether that's possible.

I created a new ticket over here because I couldn't find my old ticket anymore:

(For some reason none of the tickets I make show up when I search for 'My Tickets'.)

It's surprising the tracker does not wrok when archiving is in process. How many visits/pages do you track per day? It works for other power users. please ask in forums with more details & slow queries for more help
