Main feature that I would like to see added is the ability to parse apache log files at predetermined intervals. From the log files then display data such as errors, redirects and others that might otherwise be missed out on.

I can see the utility of having all your stats on one dashboard, unfortunately, this request isn’t within the scope of [wiki:Piwik-Vision-Roadmap] for a couple of factors:

  1. it assumes the Piwik server runs on the same web server as the domains being tracked, and thus, has access to those web server log files
  2. it proposes to “pull” information from log files, instead of pushing data into piwik (see ticket #134)

However, you are welcome to develop and contribute a plug-in that provides this functionality. Feel free to seek guidance on the piwik-hackers mailing list.

See also ticket #375 and ./misc/log_player.py.script.
